How to estimate asphalt

Hot-mix asphalt is ordered by the ton. Multiply the length, width and thickness of the paving in feet for cubic feet, multiply by about 145 lb per cubic foot, then divide by 2000 to get tons.

Driveways are usually paved 2-3 inches thick over a compacted base. Set your delivered price per ton and your paving labor rate in Settings and CraftTools builds the priced estimate.
