Trowla
Our mission

We build the tool we wished we had on the jobsite

Trowla turns a measurement into a priced client quote in the time it takes to walk back to the truck. That's the whole idea — make the everyday work of estimating faster, so you can spend the day building, not doing paperwork.

The problem we care about

A good estimate is where a job is won or lost — and it's the part nobody has time for.

Measurements get scribbled on scrap paper. Waste factors and labor get done in your head. The materials that quietly kill a margin — grout, thinset, gate hardware, subfloor prep — get left off the fast number. And the software built to fix this is mostly heavy desktop tools priced for the office, not the person standing in the room with a tape measure. So contractors keep bidding from the gut, and keep working for free when the bid is off.

What we believe

Thirty seconds to "finally"

When you open Trowla, the goal is that within half a minute you think: someone finally gets how I actually work. Not an AI gadget — a tool that fits the job.

Built for the jobsite, not the office

Mobile-first, big buttons, few fields. You should be able to price a job on your phone standing in the space, not back at a desk that evening.

Your prices and your labor

Generic calculators use averages that are never right. You set your own material prices and rate once, and every estimate reflects what you'd actually charge — materials and labor together.

Your data stays yours

Your pricebook and customer list are yours. Start with no sign-up; add a free account only when you want your work synced across your phone and truck laptop.

What Trowla is

A growing set of free trade calculators — concrete, fence, flooring, tile, drywall, siding, deck, asphalt and more — each one wired into the same workflow: calculate the materials, add your prices and labor, and turn it into a clean, branded quote your client can say yes to. Group estimates under a project and a customer, print or send the quote, and pick up where you left off next time. No install, no subscription to try it.

The honest version

This started from a simple obsession: making the daily work easier. Not disrupting anything, not reinventing the trade — just cutting the friction out of the part between measuring a job and handing over a number you're proud of. If a calculator here saves you a callback, a second trip to the supplier, or an evening of paperwork, it's doing its job. Tell us what's missing — we build for the people who use it.
